If your inbox is overflowing with “last-chance” sales and your wedding checklist feels longer than your guest list, you’re in the right place. Black Friday wedding deals are rolling in—and with a little strategy, you can save big without falling for the marketing traps.
Before we dive in, grab my free Black Friday Wedding Shopping List below!
Start with What You Actually Need
The number-one Black Friday rule? Buy only what’s already on your wedding list. Discounts mean nothing if you’re buying things you don’t need.
Example: every year, DSW sends me a $10 birthday coupon. Every year, I spend $90 more than planned because “free money!” That’s how these deals work — they tempt us to spend unnecessarily.
But if you truly need something (like a new pair of black flats for wedding days), that’s a smart deal.
Make a Wedding Shopping List Before You Browse
Focus on the categories you already plan to spend on — Black Friday is the perfect time to grab thoughtful gifts for your parents and wedding party.
Wedding Gifts Worth Buying on Sale
Here are some ideas to start with:
Jewelry to wear on the wedding day
Robes or shirts for getting ready
Fun, unique socks
Custom flasks
Custom bags for them to use on the wedding day
Cups/mugs with their names
Wedding Beauty Items
You can also snag a few pre-wedding beauty items you’ve been looking for an excuse to splurge on — just be sure to test them well before the big day! A few ideas include:
Face or eye masks for the morning
Teeth whitening products
Serums or creams for skin care
Self tanner
Hair treatments or appliances
A special wedding day perfume
Day of hair and makeup supplies, if you’re not hiring a professional to do this for you
If you’re planning to put together hotel welcome bags, this is a great time to stock up on supplies — everything from the bags or boxes themselves to the filler, snacks, candy, or hangover kit goodies you’ve been eyeing.
Ceremony & Reception Items to Watch For
And when it comes to your ceremony and reception, Black Friday is the perfect opportunity to grab some of those décor and detail items on your list, like:
Wedding invitations or save the dates
Detail photo props - nice ring box, perfume bottles, jewelry box, and dress hangars
Ceremony arch or pew/aisle decor
Card box
Guest book
Neon signs
Table numbers
Favors, or favor packaging - but make sure to listen to episode 59 on wedding favors first!
Candles - flameless or real (don’t forget the batteries!)
Foam glow sticks/sparklers
Poloroid cameras and film
Photo Booth props
Paper for stationery items
Dishware (if needed) - you can find real or disposable on Amazon. Don’t forget the dishes for appetizers and dessert!
Napkins - for cocktail hour or the bar
Bathroom basket supplies
Flip flops and a basket for dancing feet
And if you’ve been looking for some DIY projects, I’ve heard that the Cricut brand products will be on sale, so make sure to check that out!
Outfit & Apparel Deals
Black Friday is also a great time to keep an eye out for all the wedding-related outfits on your list. Think beyond just the big day — you can score deals on looks for your shower, rehearsal, and honeymoon too. Here are a few to watch for:
Your own wedding day jewelry and shoes
Outfits for your other events like your shower, rehearsal dinner, and honeymoon
Wedding party dresses and suits or tuxes
You may even find some local wedding gown shops clearing out their inventory before the new year with sales, so make sure to look into that if you still need a dress.
Cash-Back & Gift Card Strategies
If you’re ready to take your savings game up a notch, here are a few other cash-back and rewards apps worth checking out. They’re especially great for couples who shop a mix of online and in-store, or just want to feel like they’re earning bonus points for doing what they were already doing — planning a wedding.
Rakuten – My personal go-to for online shopping. Cash back from thousands of stores (like Etsy, Macy’s, and Michaels), plus extra bonus rates during sale season. Add the browser extension and let it do the work for you.
Ibotta – Perfect if you’re picking up décor, snacks, or welcome bag goodies in-store. Just snap a photo of your receipt or link your loyalty account to earn instant cash back.
Fetch Rewards – An easy, low-effort app that turns any receipt into points you can trade for gift cards (and who doesn’t love free Target runs?).
Capital One Shopping – A browser extension that automatically finds coupon codes and compares prices before you buy. Great for Amazon and major retailer deals.
Swagbucks – A bit more interactive—you can earn points for shopping, answering surveys, or watching videos. Not just for wedding spending, but still a fun way to save extra cash.
You can also look for gift card bonuses — in the past, sites like Honeyfund have offered deals such as a $10 Amazon card for every $50 spent. That means you can stock up on credits now and save them for when you’re ready to book vendors or buy wedding essentials later.
This approach is ideal if you already know which brands or services you’ll be using, but aren’t quite ready to pull the trigger. It lets you lock in extra savings now and spend smarter later — future you (and your budget) will thank you.
Stick with one or two of these so you don’t spread your purchases (and cash-back tracking) too thin. My top picks for wedding shopping are Rakuten for online buys and Ibotta for in-store finds.
Note: This section of the post does contains affiliate links, which means I may earn a small commission if you choose to make a purchase through them—at no extra cost to you. I only share tools and products I genuinely love and recommend to my couples!
Stretch Your Budget With Post-Holiday Black Friday Wedding Deals
The third strategy is to take advantage of wedding décor items that are often sold for holidays and will soon hit major clearance. These may not technically be Black Friday deals, but they’re definitely worth keeping an eye out for.
Even if your wedding isn’t holiday-themed, you can still score incredible savings on things like string lights, candles and holders, chargers, linens, and other décor staples. Take a look at your design list and see where you can get creative — these markdowns typically start rolling out in mid-December and can stretch your budget in a big way.
Before You Start Shopping…
Double-check pre-sale pricing. Some retailers inflate prices before the sale so the “discount” looks bigger than it is.
Confirm return policies. End-of-year sales often have stricter or final-sale terms, so read the fine print.
Think beyond the wedding. You can also use Black Friday to grab bachelor/bachelorette party outfits, honeymoon accessories, or travel must-haves.
